Emergency Information For The School Year


Rain, Wind, Snow, Power Outages, and School Closures—Oh My!

 When weather or other emergencies limit our ability to operate school and our buses on the regular schedule, you need to know. 

When there is a need to change the schedule or cancel school, you can expect to be notified through two systems:  

FlashAlert and SchoolMessenger.

FlashAlert posts school closures and schedule changes to the TV and radio stations. You can also

subscribe to receive FlashAlert notifications directly by going to

to set up your own account.


SchoolMessenger is our notification system that calls and emails with information including, but not limited to, schedule changes and school closures. These notifications are sent out to the phone numbers and emails you provide your child’s school. If a phone number or email address changes, please make sure we get the up-to-date information.


As power outages are all too often a part of our weather challenges, another good source of information is the Puget Sound Energy app which allows you to report and track power outages.
